The BYC is set to reopen on January 7th, 2025. We eagerly anticipate welcoming young individuals back to the youth club to carry on our efforts in supporting the community's youth.
As many are aware, the BYC decided to temporarily close due to antisocial behavior affecting the safe operation of the sessions. In recent months, the club's trustees and youth workers have been meeting with individuals from other youth clubs, schools, and the West Mercia Police Force to build stronger community ties and ensure a secure environment for the Basement Youth Club's users.
When we reopen on January 7th, we will be welcoming a range of visitors throughout the week, such as local PCSOs, safeguarding services, and trustees. The safety of both young people and staff is our top priority and therefore any antisocial behavior will be reported to the appropriate authorities, and the young person/s involved will be asked to leave.
All parents and carers will have access to download a PDF file of the rules. In addition, the lead youth worker will fill out a young person's sign-up form by reaching out to the emergency contact number to verify the young person's attendance at the club and ensure that all parents are informed of the rules and the consequences of not adhering to them.
We are thrilled to have everyone return and anticipate enjoying tea and toast conversations, pool table competitions, and late-night dodgeball games.
All the best,
The BYC Team
